EKU Online: Applying for Graduate Admission

Follow the steps below to apply for admission to EKU’s graduate program in Justice, Policy & Leadership. International applicants must meet additional requirements found here.

STEP 1: Complete the EKU Graduate School's Online Application

1. Complete Your Application. Click here for step-by-step instructions.

2. Choose a Payment Option

When all items in the “Application Sections” checklist contain a red check-mark, you have successfully added all required information for the application. At this point, click on “Application is Complete.” Choose an application fee option. Select from the following:

Pay now by credit card. Choose this option to pay securely online, using Visa or Mastercard. This is the most efficient method of payment.

Will send in a check. Choose this option if you plan to send a check for the application fee. Please make your check or money order payable to EKU Graduate School. Applicants to the online program should mail checks to:

NOTE: Your application will NOT be processed until payment of the application fee is received by EKU

STEP 2: Request Official Undergraduate Transcripts

You must have official transcripts sent from the college or university that granted your bachelor’s degree directly to EKU.

Transcripts sent to a student and then delivered to EKU will not be accepted. Each transcript must bear the original signature of the authorized official, along with the seal of the institution, and must be sent to EKU directly from the issuing institution.

Contact the school and have your transcripts sent to the address below. Most schools have an online request form for this service.

STEP 3: Request Letters of Recommendation

You must have two people who are qualified to assess your potential for graduate work submit letters of recommendation. Request that they submit their letters directly to the graduate program office at:

If you are applying for the master’s degree program, continue to steps 4 and 5.

STEP 4: Submit a Statement of Personal and Professional Objectives (master’s degree program candidates only)

All applicants for the master’s degree program must complete a substantive essay that details their personal and professional objectives in pursuing a master’s degree in Justice, Policy & Leadership. This statement should include the primary and secondary motivations for pursuing the degree, educational interests, potential research interests, and what the applicant hopes to accomplish upon completion of the degree. This statement can be submitted directly to the EKU Graduate School at:

Step 5: Submit Official Test Scores for the GRE Exam (master’s degree program candidates only)

If your GRE scores are not currently on file with EKU, visit the Educational Testing Service (ETS) website at www.gre.org to request an additional score report be mailed directly from ETS to the university. EKU’s school code is 1200.

NOTE: If you have previously completed a master’s degree, you may request waiver of the GRE requirement.
